Flv Player For Mac Free

  • I’m running wordpress 3.1.3 and using FV WordPress Flowplayer 1.0.6 and I get the flowplayer to show on a post but when I push the play button all I get is an audio of the video but no video.
I tried loading FV WordPress Flowplayer 1.2.12 and I am getting the same results.

Fluid Player For Macbook

  • Hello roscoehix,

what video format are you using?

Flowplayer is able to play mp4 files, however not all codecs are supported. If you’re having troubles try to use another codec when saving your video, or use the flv format.

    Thanks,
    Martin

    Hi Roscoe,

All h.264 video is not created equal. Our plugin supports h.264 MP4 but sometimes there can be issues with the encoding (also depends on platform/browser). If you want to get your video online quickly, re-encode as Martin suggests.

    Thanks for trying FV software!

I get this also, though if I press pause, and then play, I get the video fine. Using .flv as the video file – can’t for the life of me fathom out why I cannot get video upon initial load/play

Same here… I tried every possible codec on earth for mp4 but no video whatsoever is showing up, I can only hear audio. (flv videos play like a charm)

    Alberto

    Hello Alberto,

if you are a Mac user, you can try following guide:
    http://foliovision.com/2010/12/07/convert-videos-for-ipad-on-mac

Otherwise I would suggest to you the h264 codec, and maybe alter the properties, be sure to not use some strange video resolution, also alter/remove streaming options, and try other features your video encoding application supports.

For us, the above link on how to encode always worked on mac, which is if you have quicktime pro the easiest solution. On Windows it’s more complicated as you have probably installed some custom application for video encoding so we can really help here. We’ve been successfully using also the online service http://www.encoding.com/, but this is not entirely free.

    Zdenka

Thank you Zdenka, I did manage to view mp4 movies correctly (it was a codec related issue) although I dind’t quite understand if FV flowplayer can handle streaming with mp4 or users will have to fully load the clip before viewing anything (I’ll run a test with a bigger movie). That would definately be a problem because I’m building a site where HD mp4 movies sit in a special performing host with extremely wide bandwidth in order to provide simultaneus view to a lot of users. I know someone has added a sort of script to achieve that, but do not recall where I read about it.

    Best regards

    Alberto

    Hi Alberto,

Flowplayer supports some pseudostreaming, some there will be no need to load the full video before viewing.
But you’d better check the whole performance for your HD movies in advance. You may need to tinker more for codec options to achieve best performance.

    Zdenka

Thanx Zdenka, one more thing (this is really a minor issue). For some reason I do not know, when assigning a splash img to a movie I end up with a stripe of missing pixels on the right side just like if the picture wasn’t wide enough (but it is). In fact as the video finishes playing and the splash img comes back, it is displayed with the correct width.

    thx Alberto

    Hi Alberto,

check your css, you have a conflict there. You have max-width set for all images on your site, which makes also the splash image shorter (style.css, line 852: max-width: 97.5%;)

The splash at the end is correct because it is set by javascript.

    Zdenka

Yes I noticed it.. (found with firebug) but that is a default string in twentyeleven theme… not my editing. I tried to overwrite it with a img.splash {max-width:100%important!;} but it doesn’t work (I don’t want to touch the style of content in other pages). No problem…also this is a different thread and I rather not overdub a different subject.

    thx anyway

    Alberto
